In recent years, the media has placed the spotlight not only on fashion designers, but also on the stylists and industry consultants that play an integral role in trend forecasting and the development of designer’s collections. Creating a collection is not only about the designer's vision, but also what his or her following is doing that particular season. True enough, designers influence fashion's popular trends, but it’s the populous that subconsciously births the trends and decides whether they will sink or swim.

A consultants job is to assist the bride in the selection of the gown and all of the preparations, both minor and major, leading up to the wedding day. But more importantly, they bridge the gap between the consumer and the brand. The beauty in a collection is the interpretation of emotions that the designer conveys through the clothing. If a collection is a visual story, then a consultant is perhaps a co-author of sorts. While it is the designer that creates, it is the consultant that gives the designer the tools to begin building. Working with these creative minds each season gives the stylist a front row seat to a brides heart by informing the designer what the bride wants and all of the fabulous elements that she hopes to see in a collection.
